HEAD Boom MP L 2026 Tennis Racquet

HEAD Boom MP L 2026 Tennis Racquet

The HEAD Boom MP L 2026 is the lighter, faster-swinging member of the Boom family — a 100 sq in frame trimmed to 285 g (10.1 oz) for players who need effortless acceleration without giving up the lively, connected feel that defines the Boom line. It is the right choice for improving intermediates, athletic beginners who already swing with intent, and competitive players who prize quick preparation on returns and fast net exchanges.

• Auxetic 2.0 in a Lighter Package — The same metamaterial throat technology from the standard Boom MP is retained in full, meaning the L still delivers that distinctive expanding-structure dampening and lively pop at contact. Reducing the frame weight to 285 g does not diminish the Auxetic benefit; if anything, the lighter chassis makes it easier to generate the fast swing speeds where Auxetic's impact-absorption is most noticeable.
• Graphene 360+ for Stability Without Added Mass — Integrating Graphene 360+ at key structural zones lets HEAD keep the frame rigid and stable in the hoop and shoulders even as overall weight drops. Players coming from heavier racquets sometimes worry a lighter frame will twist on off-center contact — the Graphene layup meaningfully reduces that torque, keeping shots accurate even when preparation is rushed.
• 100 sq in / 16×19 — Forgiving Sweet Spot, Open Spin Pattern — Matching the standard Boom MP in head size and string pattern, the L version gives players the same generous hitting zone and spin-friendly open spacing. The 16×19 pattern provides enough lateral gap between strings for significant ball grab and rotation without sacrificing the pocket depth needed for feel on slice and drop shots.
• 285 g / 10.1 oz — Noticeably Faster Swing Speed — The 15 g reduction versus the Boom MP translates directly into quicker racquet head speed through the contact zone, making it easier to time serves, track wide returns, and transition from defense to offense in one explosive swing. Players with shorter, quicker strokes often find a lighter frame more consistent than forcing extra weight through a compact motion.
• Ideal Player Profile — Perfect for players at NTRP 3.0–4.0 who want to develop pace and spin without fighting racquet weight, as well as intermediates returning from arm or shoulder issues who need a manageable setup. Also a strong option for smaller adults and athletic juniors stepping up from a 26-inch junior frame for the first time.
• Specifications at a Glance — Head size 100 sq in, length 27 in, strung weight 285 g / 10.1 oz, balance 335 mm / 4 pts HL, stiffness RA 60, string pattern 16×19. Recommended tension 52–62 lbs. Supplied unstrung.

A soft multifilament like HEAD Velocity MLT at 55–60 lbs pairs especially well, adding plush feel and effortless power that complements the L's lighter, faster-swinging platform.
